يوجد في لبنان أكثر من نوع من اللوز البري، وجميعها تشترك في عادات مشتركة، مثل رائحة الزهور القوية. المزهرة مبكرة جدا، تقريبا في نهاية شباط. معظمها يحمل ثمار اللوز المر. أحد الأنواع شائك، وهو اللوز الشرقي.

There are more than one wild almond species in Lebanon, they all share common habits, like strong flower smells. Very early flowering, almost the end of February. Most of them bear bitter almond fruits. One species is thorny, the Prunus orientalis.
