الزيزفون مقاومًا جدًا للجفاف، وبطيء جدًا في النمو ما لم يتم ريه بانتظام. هو ذات أهمية اقتصادية لأنه يتطلب عناية أقل ، يؤمن بعض الدخل لأصحاب الأراضي، ويتم جمع الزهور وإضافتها إلى مزيج الشاي أو استخدامها كشاي منقوع.

Wild and domesticated, Russian olive is very tolerant to drought, very slow in growth unless irrigated regularly. Economically important because it takes less care and generates some income for landowners, flowers are collected and added to tea mix or used as infusion tea.
