موطنه لبنان، يشبه نبات الزعتر الزوبع ولكن بدون شعر على الأوراق وله طعم قوي للغاية، يستخدمه الناس في المناطق النائية من لبنان في مزيج الزعتر. مفيد جداً كغطاء أرضي لأنه ينتشر فوق سطح الأرض في السنة الأولى ثم ينتج سيقاناً تحمل أزهاراً. يمكن استخدامه للزراعة عند الأسيجة والحدود والحاويات. أنها عالية في محتوى الزيت العطري. أظهر اختبار في الجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت فعالية عالية على بعض أمراض الفطر الجلدية.

It is endamic to Lebanon, resembles the Origanum syriacum but with no hairs on the leaves and has a very strong taste, people in remote areas of Lebanon use it in the Oregano mix with Oirganum syriacum. Very useful as a ground cover because it spreads above the ground first year and then it produces stalks that bear flowers.Could be used to plant at hedges, borders, containers. It is high in essential oil content. Test at the American University of Beirut showed high efficacy on some skin yeast diseases.
